Locanda di San Francesco is a boutique property that offers charming and discreet hospitality, with the ambience of an elegant private home, and the services of a hotel. The unique atmosphere of La Locanda is created by the antique furnishings, the exclusivity of just four rooms, and the breathtaking views across two valleys as well as the lakes of Trasimeno, Chiusi and Montepulciano. The incomparable position, at the sunniest and highest point of the town, ensures light-filled rooms even on winter days.
Our guests have the keys to the house so they feel this is their “home away from home.” We are proud to welcome you to La Locanda’s atmosphere of comfort and hospitality, for a holiday immersed in emblematic Tuscan panoramas, but at the heart of the historical centre of Montepulciano, just a few steps from Piazza Grande. Walk through the two magnificent doors onto the large terrace and enjoy the Tuscan light from early morning or admire unforgettable sunsets over the Val D'Orcia. Most of the wines on offer in the elegant wine bar are from Tuscany's best estates and they are complemented by a well-curated selection of Italian and French wines. They are available by the glass or bottle. To go with them, enjoy the best of Tuscany's artisan cheeses and salumi, or other simple dishes, usually available at any time of the day.

Please note: all rooms are on the first floor (which is the second floor in North America) of the Palazzo, and there is no elevator due to the historical nature of the building.
